De Djawatan is a tourist attraction located in Benculuk Village, Cluring District, Banyuwangi Regency, East Java. This area is similar to Fangorn Forest in the film Lord of the Rings. Many people call it the Lord of the Rings Forest. This popular destination in Banyuwangi offers views of the forest with green trembesi trees and a cool atmosphere. De Djawatan Attraction De Djawatan opened as a tourist attraction in 2018. Previously, Perhutani as one of the managers had carried out various observations and tests before this area was opened as a tourist attraction. The Djawatan Benculuk building was first built in 1951 and completed in 1962. The office stood on an area of 5.2 hectares, but has now been reduced to 3.8 hectares. Another unique thing that Djawatan Benculuk offers is that it has an independent electricity supply which means there is no need to depend on other sources. There is an old train called Sepur Kelutuk which is still equipped with engineering and workshops. This train was previously used as a mode of transportation between sub-districts in Banyuwangi Regency. The route starts from Kalibaru, Genteng, Purwoharjo, Alas Purwo, Srono, Rogojampi, to Banyuwangi City. Here, you can still find the rail that passes through Sepur Kelutuk, although some of it has been damaged. The use of the name De Djawatan is to remind that this place is the glory of Perum Perhutani. Because in the past, Perhutani was called Djawatan Kehutanan. De Djawatan Banyuwangi Tourism, There are 805 Trees 150 years old. Meanwhile the entrance to this location belongs to PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), its name is Djawatan PT KAI. The choice of the name De Djawatan was none other than because the name has memories. This tourist spot boasts a view of the giant trembesi tree. There are around 805 trees that are 100-150 years old. On average, trees have a circumference of 400-500 centimeters, with a diameter of 1.5 meters to 2 meters. This tree is located in an area of nine hectares. Unfortunately, this trembesi tree is easily fragile and breaks. For this reason, the management always carries out regular maintenance. This area managed by Perhutani and the Banyuwangi Tourism Office is very instagrammable. Visitors who have just entered this area will immediately be moved to take photos.
